We have a large quantity of Universal Instruments machine controllers. J11 8223 and 8222 V3 Controllers. We also carry replacement cards for the 8222 controller.

Universal Instruments J11 Controller (often referred as 8223 / 256K assembly)

  • The J11 Controller is commonly known under part numbers 41702001 or 41702002, sold as the “8223 / J11 Controller 256K” assembly. It is used in Universal Instruments auto-insertion systems and generally features 256 KB memory.

Universal Instruments 8222 Controller (128K / V3)

  • The 8222 Controller—also labeled “8222/V3 Controller with 128K memory” (part number 41228601)—is a variant used in similar URS/through‑hole assembly machines.

Before replacing any controller be sure to check the supply voltages to the unit. Failure of the 5+, 15+, 15- or 24V AC will cause the controller to not operate.
